Has Your Horoscope Changed?

I’m not the type of person, who relies on mysterious-sounding locations of stars to determine my personality and outcome in life. All I know is that my birth date falls on Sagittarius.  I’m not here to ask your opinion or question you if I need to believe in horoscope. I just want to share this new information that I read through online.

The astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society found that because of the moon's gravitational pull on Earth, the alignment of the stars was pushed by about a month. See the Best Portraits from TIME 2010.

"When [astrologers] say that the sun is in pisces, it's really not in Pisces," noted Parke Kunkle, a member of the group's board. Your astrological sign is determined by the position of the sun on the day you were born, so that means everything you thought you knew about your horoscope is wrong.

It turns out that astrology has had issues from its inception. (Aside from the fact that it tries to link personality traits with positions of the stars.) Ancient Babylonians had 13 constellations, but wanted only 12, so threw out Ophuchicus, the snake holder. Libra didn't even enter the picture until the era of Julius Caesar.

According to the Minnesota Planetarium Society, here is where the real signs of the Zodiac should fall. Get ready for your world to change forever.

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

Now that astronomers at the Minnesota Planetarium Society have redefined the zodiac calendar, former Sagittarians and Capricorns born between Nov. 29 and Dec. 17 are buzzing about the unknown implications of their new sign. “Ophiuchus”.

Whether or not you're part of the million people who believe in this astorological signs, shocking or not, who doesn’t get a kick out of comparing our personal lives to the alleged horoscope traits.

We all need a good luck and charms in this life but as The Alchemist says, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve It." and the world won’t change for you, society or the stars neither.

So for this year, I’m determined to have a little change in my life, like how this astrological sign moves to a new position to the sun.  The key to change is to let go FEAR! To begin to live without fear is to be able to change without fear. Fear is like a virus that wrecks havoc in our lives. It develops into mistrust, anxiety, worry, hopelessness, and other negative emotions. It paralyzes us and hinders our progress in life.

Change starts within us to be a better person. We have to stop being PEFECT person-this is impossible and stressful. Live life everyday as a new chance of being the best that we can possibly. So instead of being shocked or annoyed with this astrological changes why don't we focus on our lives to be better and to live the best we can.

Happy weekend!

  5. I can't say that the position of the sun on the day I was born doesn't have any impact on my life but I think it's so small that it doesn't really matter. It's not my zodiac sign what defines me. I believe that my thoughts, decisions and actions define who I am.

Happy Halloween

Halloween here in the Philippines is not like the Halloween in the Western countries. Although it’s a big holiday (comparable to Christmas here), we celebrate it in a different manner. Halloween in the Philippines lasts from the eve of October 31 (or even before this day) to November 2. Due to our strong Catholic background, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 are spent remembering our dead loved ones and these dates will usually find most of us in one place only: the cemetery or the memorial park. We don’t celebrate it with pumpkins or trick-or-treats (although this Western tradition is sometimes practiced in some families / subdivisions here). We celebrate it through candles, flowers, prayers and a visit to the cemetery. You might think we have a very boring Halloween here. I mean, cemeteries, graves, prayers, etc. make it look like a serious affair. Not so. Spending Halloween in the cemeteries is a fun event. It’s like a mini-reunion for families and friends alike, a chance to have fellowship ...

Starbucks Planner 2012- time to ingest gallons of caffeine!

I don’t have a problem with caffeine. I have a problem without caffeine…oh yes! I’m a self confessed coffee-holic. Last year, I suffered from gastritis due to over consumption of coffee but it didn’t stop me, my blood type is coffee and caffeine isn’t a drug, it’s a vitamin.:) So I switched to decaffeinated coffee (decaf). This coffee has less caffeine or 97% of its caffeine has been removed. It works with me. I no longer suffer from inflammation… goodbye antacids. I must admit that I love Starbucks,  (aaminin ko to, na-eenjoy ko talaga yung kape ng Starbucks bakit ba…social climber..OO ako na..hahaha.) so I often spend my rest day at WalterMart Makati Starbucks with a good book. Since it’s the nearest branch at di msyado maraming otaw…di magulo. Apart from their coffee, I’m a big fun of the yearly planner. Not for me but for my sister.  She has been receiving this gift from me for 3 years in a row na. sosyal at katapos back to 3 in 1 brown coffee na ulit...lol So by to...
