Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a lovely day. Christmas is amazing but I know it’s also horrible time for many. Sorry if I ruin that Christmas-lovely feeling:) I just don’t want anyone of you readers to think, that you are alone to not have that perfect day. So for now dont browse or read your favorite blogs. Remember that it’s so easy to run a blog and only show the “perfect world”.   I know Christmas is something everything seems so “perfect” and my family back home is not the perfect one, I think a lot of people who are alone and have issues at home. I know there are so many.  So don’t feel like you are the only one who is not having the perfect day with the perfect gift. You’re not.   With all this perfect and imperfect things with Christmas, I will still be the person who loves this time of the year. Even if I haven’t always been like that…Well I could continue forever. Merry Christmas…my loves!          Top...

Simbang Gabi: Dawn Mass

Christmas in the Philippines is the world’s longest Christmas Season. It can mean one of many things: Christmas carols played every corner, Christmas lights twinkles all over the city, endless family reunions, traffic jam and shop till you drop days. Though there is definitely one thing you need to experience: Simbang Gabi! Simbang Gabi is a Filipino tradition that translates into “Night Masses ” or “Midnight Mass.” It’s one of the longest and most popular among Philippine traditions. These Night Masses, or Masses at dawn is a nine day series of masses at Catholic churches where the mass begins at dawn (around 4am). For nine days, before Christmas, people would wake up in the middle of the night to go to church. Churches and streets would fill up with people.               First day: Simbang Gabi at  Don Bosco Church Makati     After the mass you can enjoy Filipino dilicaci...

Starbucks Planner 2013- time to ingest gallons of caffeine!

I orchestrate my mornings to the tune of coffee. My day would not be complete without having a cup of Joe, I guess my blood type is coffee.  I must admit I love Starbuck coffee. This is a love affair that will never let die..oo! Social climber kung social climber ang tawag dedma ako! But really it’s nice to wake up in the morning in a bad mood and know that soon, I’ll have my cup of Macchiato in my hand to get through the rest of my day.  Yes you can save money by not going to Starbucks, but you will probably end up spending the money you save on something else.  This is my little treat much like a vacation, manicure, gadgets or a new book. Kanya kanya lang yan! If it’s my rest day, I pack up my bag and head to the nearest Starbucks where I get my favorite cup of joe, head to my spot and start reading books that has been on my shelves for century or kung peg nyo mag nganga portion ka dun! Tambay and nganga diba! Winner! Last week, Christmas at Starbucks already ...

Starbucks Planner 2012- time to ingest gallons of caffeine!

I don’t have a problem with caffeine. I have a problem without caffeine…oh yes! I’m a self confessed coffee-holic. Last year, I suffered from gastritis due to over consumption of coffee but it didn’t stop me, my blood type is coffee and caffeine isn’t a drug, it’s a vitamin.:) So I switched to decaffeinated coffee (decaf). This coffee has less caffeine or 97% of its caffeine has been removed. It works with me. I no longer suffer from inflammation… goodbye antacids. I must admit that I love Starbucks,  (aaminin ko to, na-eenjoy ko talaga yung kape ng Starbucks bakit ba…social climber..OO ako na..hahaha.) so I often spend my rest day at WalterMart Makati Starbucks with a good book. Since it’s the nearest branch at di msyado maraming otaw…di magulo. Apart from their coffee, I’m a big fun of the yearly planner. Not for me but for my sister.  She has been receiving this gift from me for 3 years in a row na. sosyal at katapos back to 3 in 1 brown coffee na ulit...lol So by to...

The last time...

Late last night, I was going through some small things and stumbled with this old Christmas Greeting card. I was stunned, amazed with the date written on it “Dec 14 1972” such an antique, a divine which leads me to ask my self, When was the last time I sent or received a Christmas greeting card from a friend or family members through snail mail?  Hmmmm...It took me an hour to response to my own question and I guess nobody’s doing it now!   In this world were social networking site almost navigate our world, facebook, twitter, friendster and multiply...etc snail mail has become 19th forgotten. So for this coming holiday I would go low-fi, not such a bad idea. There is something to be said about exerting the effort to buy stamps, mailing a letter and then waiting for it to arrive. When it finally does, there’s the anticipation of opening a sealed package meant only for another person’s eye. It’ll probably be quicker just to deliver the card personally, but...
