The beautiful Fever and Cognac for the Soul

Last month September 21st,  I join the launching and book signing of author Iris Orprecio. The best poems from her three Word Press and two Multiply poetry blog are now compiled in two anthologies, The Beautiful Fever and Cognac for the Soul at  posh bar Moonleaf- Columns 1 corner Ayala and Gil Puyat Avenues, Makati.

Orpi, had two passions, writing and mathematics. She took up Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mathematics and worked as member of the faculty at the University of the Philippines for five years. A few years ago, she resigned from teaching post to pursue a writing career. She currently hold a three-tier job at Game Services Group, Inc. – Creative / technical writer, mathematical analyst and academic consultant. The mixture of glamor and chaos of the Makati Central Business District, where her office is, gives her the inspiration to continue writing despite of her busy schedules.via

  4. Thank you for supporting my event (there weren't that many people who came that I don't personally know so it's always a thrill to be "discovered" by a stranger) and for helping me spread the word about my books! And thank you for the click-backs to my blog. I see from the directed traffic that you have quite a following in this blog of yours. I have pictures of you too, taken by the event's official photographer. I haven't uploaded a big chunk of that night's crop but I will be sure to link you and your blog as soon as they're up.

Stay passionate with life! And keep yourself inspired. :-)

  9. My passion is blue and bold! hehehe...

Mathematics and business as inspiration? Ang hirap yata ma-imagine yun. She's really one heck of a unique poet if she writes masterpieces inspired by maths and business.

I like poems to. There was a phase in my life when I wrote poems and participated in poetry contests.

And this is the first time I've heard about a blogger-poet! Impressive! I like your taste Ms. Sunny Toast. You're really classy and very refined.

Happy Halloween

Halloween here in the Philippines is not like the Halloween in the Western countries. Although it’s a big holiday (comparable to Christmas here), we celebrate it in a different manner. Halloween in the Philippines lasts from the eve of October 31 (or even before this day) to November 2. Due to our strong Catholic background, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 are spent remembering our dead loved ones and these dates will usually find most of us in one place only: the cemetery or the memorial park. We don’t celebrate it with pumpkins or trick-or-treats (although this Western tradition is sometimes practiced in some families / subdivisions here). We celebrate it through candles, flowers, prayers and a visit to the cemetery. You might think we have a very boring Halloween here. I mean, cemeteries, graves, prayers, etc. make it look like a serious affair. Not so. Spending Halloween in the cemeteries is a fun event. It’s like a mini-reunion for families and friends alike, a chance to have fellowship with

Camsur Watersports Complex: My first wakeboarding experience

Bicol Trip! After hours of journey from Cagsawa Ruins , through farmlands, mountains and breathtaking scenery of the region we finally arrived at CamSur.   We used the Starex Van for the 3 days bicol trip which owned by our friend and of course we have our fair share of  misfortunes.      Good thing our driver kuya Ceasar the one wearing white shirt was able to fix it. Thanks God!  Tuloy ang ligaya:)   Welcome to CamSur! photo via       We are all excited for the wakeboarding but since we been on the road for hours we first had our late lunch on thier own Clubhouse Restaurant & Bar    Patay gutom mode na!   Warning! Starbucks Planner 2012- time to ingest gallons of caffeine!

I don’t have a problem with caffeine. I have a problem without caffeine…oh yes! I’m a self confessed coffee-holic. Last year, I suffered from gastritis due to over consumption of coffee but it didn’t stop me, my blood type is coffee and caffeine isn’t a drug, it’s a vitamin.:) So I switched to decaffeinated coffee (decaf). This coffee has less caffeine or 97% of its caffeine has been removed. It works with me. I no longer suffer from inflammation… goodbye antacids. I must admit that I love Starbucks,  (aaminin ko to, na-eenjoy ko talaga yung kape ng Starbucks bakit ba…social climber..OO ako na..hahaha.) so I often spend my rest day at WalterMart Makati Starbucks with a good book. Since it’s the nearest branch at di msyado maraming otaw…di magulo. Apart from their coffee, I’m a big fun of the yearly planner. Not for me but for my sister.  She has been receiving this gift from me for 3 years in a row na. sosyal at katapos back to 3 in 1 brown coffee na ulit...lol So by tomorrow, C
