The beautiful Fever and Cognac for the Soul

Last month September 21st,  I join the launching and book signing of author Iris Orprecio. The best poems from her three Word Press and two Multiply poetry blog are now compiled in two anthologies, The Beautiful Fever and Cognac for the Soul at  posh bar Moonleaf- Columns 1 corner Ayala and Gil Puyat Avenues, Makati.

Orpi, had two passions, writing and mathematics. She took up Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mathematics and worked as member of the faculty at the University of the Philippines for five years. A few years ago, she resigned from teaching post to pursue a writing career. She currently hold a three-tier job at Game Services Group, Inc. – Creative / technical writer, mathematical analyst and academic consultant. The mixture of glamor and chaos of the Makati Central Business District, where her office is, gives her the inspiration to continue writing despite of her busy schedules.via

  1. Can't believe that there's someone who'd consider mathematics as her passion, most people hate it, hehe.. I'll check out her blogs.

  4. Thank you for supporting my event (there weren't that many people who came that I don't personally know so it's always a thrill to be "discovered" by a stranger) and for helping me spread the word about my books! And thank you for the click-backs to my blog. I see from the directed traffic that you have quite a following in this blog of yours. I have pictures of you too, taken by the event's official photographer. I haven't uploaded a big chunk of that night's crop but I will be sure to link you and your blog as soon as they're up.

Stay passionate with life! And keep yourself inspired. :-)

  9. My passion is blue and bold! hehehe...

Mathematics and business as inspiration? Ang hirap yata ma-imagine yun. She's really one heck of a unique poet if she writes masterpieces inspired by maths and business.

I like poems to. There was a phase in my life when I wrote poems and participated in poetry contests.

And this is the first time I've heard about a blogger-poet! Impressive! I like your taste Ms. Sunny Toast. You're really classy and very refined.

Gatsby Party!

As always, the anniversary party was held at Republiq club , Resort world Manila .  holding an anniversary party is a great way to recognize the hard working employees and such a great pleasure for me as  a part of the company who worked hard for my bills and other responsibility. lol This time it seems like a song resonates in my head after the party, it feels like a soundtrack in a movie but nevertheless it was a fun night. Kabog ang sarimanok ni ate! Kuya ang war nasa Zamboanga...lost in space ka yata! choz!   lafang galore! ubos ang tassle sa divisoria...winner! very Gatsby vibe! kampay! waley paki alam sina kuya basta tagay lang! gorabels! Live band that complete the Gatsby vibe! accepting my smile award at si kuya parang nasa kanto lang ang peg! pagoda tragedy! Di naman ako kita dito masydo! next party dapat 15 inches na takong ko! riot na! hala cge! shake it to left to the right! Freshness..d...

Disconnected

The Heritage Hotel and Stock Market Resto (Serendra)  It's not about what you do. It's about who you are.  It's not about who you are right now.  It's about who you could be.  It's not about what could go wrong. It's about what will go right.  It's not about listening. It's about getting up and dancing.    Life is good!  I'd like to apologize for the lack of posts. I'm back and happy:)

Single...love!

I have spent a significant portion of my life watching sappy romantic movies with ideal couple with guaranteed happy ending is such magical thou expected. I know this is terrible but there is something about them that just seem slightly attainable and relatable to our own life. Not all of us have been assigned a Mcdreamy in this lifetime. Yes! I still have a huge crush with Derek Christopher Shepher of Grey's Anatomy. I’m sorry guys. So you’re single because you’re single. It’s not because you weird, fat or you dress like out of nowhere or it’s not because you did not promptly follow the love chain letter instructions that you have to send it to 20 people close to you. You’re not single because your standards are way too high. It’s good to have standard at least you know what you like.  You’re not single because you did not learn enough from your past relationship or go out on a Friday night after work and have a bottle of beers with your guy office mates instead you ...
