33rd Manila International book fair 2012

In this day and age, the internet and television have become most people’s main form of entertainment and reading is becoming a thing of the past and I guess this is the reason why I don’t have a television for almost 5 years. I don’t like having a television at my room; it eats too much time instead of doing something productive. So whenever it’s my off or rest day and no errands to do I read a good book but I don’t limit myself to just a book. I also read countless magazines glossy or not and newspapers which my mom and friends hate me…my room looks like a stock room or should I say a mini library on the making.

So when Bibliarch bookstore gives me a free pass to the 33rd Manila International book fair 2012 at SMX Convention Center of SM Mall of Asia, there is no way I’d pass this change even thou work is in between.
This is a good way to promote the love of reading!

Philippines leading bookstores join the event and other publishing houses!
Then bumped into an old friend..couple:)
My love! I'm still in relationship with Haruki Murakami bought his new  release 1Q84
 a three volume book!
Thank you bibliarch-fullybooked for the free pass and experience!  Book fairs are the best place to learn and get to know the local authors or purchase books with great discounts, family or friend bonding as well.

And if you’re an author or writer this is best time to make great contacts or networks for your future publisher:)

  34. Fortunately I've seldom needed any incentive to feel like reading. I've always loved it and that's why it's hard for me to see that less and less people do it nowadays, especially our youth. My sister barely picks up a book and I think this book fair would be nice for her!

  38. I KNEW IT! I said to myself, there's something special about her. And yes it is- YOU'RE ALSO A MURAKAMI LOVER! Not a fan but HIS LOVER!

    hahaha!

I love Haruki Murakami. I'm so smitten by his talent and incredible creativity. Iisipin mo talaga paano niya naisip yon!

I wish I could go there. I've been to a lot of cultural events and festivals and concerts, but never to a book festival. And to say that I'm a book lover- a nerdy book worm. Yun na lang ang kulang sa akin para talagang maging bibliophile na talaga ako.

I've got lots and lots of books in my room. So many that one time i had to throw away my clothes in my closet so I can put some of my books there. Hehehehe!

Happy Halloween

Halloween here in the Philippines is not like the Halloween in the Western countries. Although it’s a big holiday (comparable to Christmas here), we celebrate it in a different manner. Halloween in the Philippines lasts from the eve of October 31 (or even before this day) to November 2. Due to our strong Catholic background, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 are spent remembering our dead loved ones and these dates will usually find most of us in one place only: the cemetery or the memorial park. We don’t celebrate it with pumpkins or trick-or-treats (although this Western tradition is sometimes practiced in some families / subdivisions here). We celebrate it through candles, flowers, prayers and a visit to the cemetery. You might think we have a very boring Halloween here. I mean, cemeteries, graves, prayers, etc. make it look like a serious affair. Not so. Spending Halloween in the cemeteries is a fun event. It’s like a mini-reunion for families and friends alike, a chance to have fellowship with

Camsur Watersports Complex: My first wakeboarding experience

Bicol Trip! Starbucks Planner 2012- time to ingest gallons of caffeine!

I don’t have a problem with caffeine. I have a problem without caffeine…oh yes! I’m a self confessed coffee-holic. Last year, I suffered from gastritis due to over consumption of coffee but it didn’t stop me, my blood type is coffee and caffeine isn’t a drug, it’s a vitamin.:) So I switched to decaffeinated coffee (decaf). This coffee has less caffeine or 97% of its caffeine has been removed. It works with me. I no longer suffer from inflammation… goodbye antacids. I must admit that I love Starbucks,  (aaminin ko to, na-eenjoy ko talaga yung kape ng Starbucks bakit ba…social climber..OO ako na..hahaha.) so I often spend my rest day at WalterMart Makati Starbucks with a good book. Since it’s the nearest branch at di msyado maraming otaw…di magulo. Apart from their coffee, I’m a big fun of the yearly planner. Not for me but for my sister.  She has been receiving this gift from me for 3 years in a row na. sosyal at katapos back to 3 in 1 brown coffee na ulit...lol So by tomorrow, C
